We are beyond thrilled to share with you that She Is Action has won the Great British Entrepreneur Award in the Early Stage Standout Award category for the East of England region! This recognition is not just a celebration of our journey so far, but a powerful validation of the mission we’ve embarked on: transforming the narrative around women’s sports.

This award is a significant boost for us as a small business originating in the East of England. With a founding team of two, deeply committed to solving the pressing issue of 1 in 2 teenage girls dropping out of sports, we strive to address the gender imbalance in grassroots sports. Too often, the narrative around women’s sports is focused on fitness and weight loss rather than the joy and passion sports can bring. Our mission is to change that, helping women find fulfillment and happiness through sports.

The journey of bootstrapping and building a business from scratch—especially in the tech and social networking space—is not an easy one. It’s even harder when you’re purpose driven and determined to build a profit-for-good business. Receiving this award in such a competitive category, filled with exciting businesses emerging from the Eastern region, is an incredible honor. It’s a celebration of entrepreneurs like us who are putting everything into getting a mission we believe in off the ground, despite existing outside the startup capital.

This recognition not only acknowledges the progress we’ve achieved over the past 18 months but also guides us toward the next chapter of our journey. It reassures us that we are on the right path—not only in choosing a mission that matters but in executing it with purpose and integrity.

Our primary goal is now and always has been, building a platform that solves problems for women and ultimately get’s more women into and progressing in sports. But more importantly, enjoying them.
